Aviation PM Consulting, Principal Owner


Program Manager at John Wayne Airport having led implementation of the $102M Terminal Improvements Design / Build Project.   Ron worked with JWA staff during Bridging Documents development, then led the procurement process to conduct outreach meetings with airport design and construction firms; develop procurement strategies; develop a unique 3-part contract format to include quantifying the risk register within a GMA Contract Amount; worked with Airport staff to establish criteria for phased project implementation; then conducted proposal interviews and negotiations.  Project is complete with change orders at approximately 2% for owner requested changes only.

 

Faithful+Gould, Project Executive / Airport Facilities Consultant
Ron managed consulting services for major projects including LAX Tom Bradley Terminal ($1.5B); San Diego Airport $1B Terminal Development Plan; SFO Terminal 1 Redevelopment Program / Airport Traffic Control Tower; LAX Consolidated Rental Car Facility Studies; Omaha Eppley Field Terminal / Airfield Master Plan; San Antonio International Airport $105M Consolidated Rental Car Facility; Sea-Tac International Airport; and San Bernardino International Airport cost consulting.  As part of a nationwide team, Ron represented the TSA to provide liaison, oversight, coordination and logistics for planning, design and initial implementation of a budgeted $860M airport-wide inline baggage screening program at LAX and a $30M implemented program at Ontario International Airport.  



 

Independent Project Management Services
As Project Manager, Ron managed design and implementation of major security projects at John Wayne Airport, including the post 9/11 airport-wide inline baggage screening program, expansion of passenger security screening, and TSA K9 facilities. Other projects included the east parking structure expansion, public transportation center, and tenant architectural reviews.  JWA achieved the status of being “first airport in the nation” to fully comply with TSA security requirements post 9/11/01 back of house screening. Acting on behalf of Airport Management, Ron was able to achieve this by use of CMAR delivery within the confines of California’s strict emergency public contracting laws.

For nearly 26 years, working as Project Manager, Project Executive, Director of Aerospace and Government Projects, and finally, Director of Northern California Operations, Ron developed and managed major programs for government and major federal government contractors. Clients served included Boeing / McDonnell Douglas (St. Louis, Southern California, Alabama), Lockheed Martin (SF Bay Area), US Postal Service (California), Federal GSA (California), USGS (Menlo Park), USAF (Alaska), CA Office of the Courts, and US Corps of Engineers LA  District.
